The Day of the Dead is an event which happens once a year in Mexico where people celebrate and have a huge party. Expect noise, colour, street parades, painted faces, smiling locals and lots of fun. You will be able to get great pictures and also see more of this region, there are ruins and spectacular landscapes to be seen.

Itinerary

Day 1 Oaxaca
Arrive at any time. Arrival transfer included.

Day 2-6 Oaxaca
Spend 5 days exploring the culture, spirituality and festivities of the famed Day of the Dead festival. Your expert, local CEO will lead you on an amazing journey through Oaxaca and this festive tradition. The schedule is based on what is happening that day, with various included experiences such as orientation walks through the city, visits to observe cemetery vigils in the towns of Xoxocotlan and Atzompa, and the Oaxaca and Etla Valley Day of the Dead parades. We also visit local markets and take excursions to nearby villages to meet artisans at work. There is also free time to explore on your own and options to visit the nearby ruins of Monte Alban or Mitla, take a cooking class, or relax in a café on the city's main square.

Day 7 Oaxaca
