On this exciting and action packed tour you will get to see and do a lot, from exploring the capital Ulaanbaatar to staying with a nomadic family in the remote countryside. The Naadam Festival is a really fun event to see in person, expect lots of activities like archery, wrestling and horse racing.

 

Itinerary

Day 1 Ulaanbaatar
Arrive at any time.

Day 2 Amarbayasgalant
Visit Amarbayasgalant Monastery before sleeping in a ger camp. Stargazing takes on a whole new meaning in the Mongolian countryside.

Days 3-4 Selenge River
Hike up the volcanic crater at Pot Mountain. Stay overnight with a nomadic family on Selenge River and enjoy a traditional Mongolian barbecue dinner.

Days 5-6 Khovsgol Lake
Opt to try archery, fishing, horseback riding or hiking.

Days 7-9 Shine Ider/Great White Lake
Look for wildlife in the stunning Lake District of Mongolia before arriving to Great White Lake. Climb the crater of a nearby volcano and crawl inside lava tubes.

Day 10 Tsenger Hot Springs
Visit the monastery museum of Tsetserleg before continuing on to the Tsenger Hot Springs. Opt to experience the waters' healing powers first hand.

Day 11 Bayan Gobi
Traditional ger camp stay and meals. Opt to hike to a small oasis lake for birdwatching or visit a nearby ancient stone carving.

Days 12-14 Ulaanbaatar
Naadam Festival ceremonies include the opening ceremony, wrestling, archery, Naadam horseracing and the closing ceremony. Free time for exploring Ulaanbaatar.

Day 15 Ulaanbaatar
Depart at any time.
