Journey across nearly half of the continent from Kenya to the southern tip of Africa and soak up the vibrant colours, culture and scenery of seven countries.

Our overland trucks are an adventurous and inexpensive way to enjoy the region’s intriguing combination of wilderness and bright city lights, while camping under Africa’s big sky will provide a unique perspective.

Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi
Arrive at any time.

Day 2 Arusha
Cross through the semi-arid lands of the Masai people on to Arusha.

Day 3 Serengeti National Park
Enjoy a game drive en route to our camp site in 4x4 safari vehicles in the central Serengeti.

Day 4-5 Ngorongoro Crater/Marangu
Search for game while in the crater, then continue onto Marangu.

Day 6-9 Dar Es Salaam/Zanzibar
Travel to Zanzibar. Embark on a guided tour of a spice plantation. Opt to visit historic sites, go snorkelling, scuba diving, or relax on the beach.

Day 10-11 Ruaha River/Iringa
Ferry to Dar es Salaam, and continue to Ruaha NP.

Day 12-14 Lake Malawi
Relax on the shores of "the lake of stars," visit various lakeside camps, and enjoy a traditional dinner in a local home. Visit a local pub one evening; first drink is on us! Opt to take a village tour, a fishing trip, or go snorkelling.

Day 15-17 Senga Bay/Chipata/Lusaka
Experience the vastness of Africa during these driving days. Spot zebra and giraffe while camping on a private game farm.

Day 18-21 Livingstone
Opt to visit Victoria Falls, go whitewater rafting, canoeing, or fly over the falls.

Day 22-23 Chobe River/Gweta
Camp under ancient baobab trees. Opt for a boat cruise.

Day 24-25 Maun/Okavango Delta
Enjoy game walks, traditional mokoro (dug-out canoe) excursions and birding. Learn the ways of the bush from local polers.

Day 26-28 Kalahari/Windhoek
Visit the Kalahari Desert, and opt to go on a walk to learn survival skills from San Bushmen.

Day 29-31 Etosha National Park/Damaraland/Spitzkoppe
Game drives in Etosha NP in the overland truck, then travel by granite peaks and through beautiful desert landscapes.

Day 32-33 Swakopmund
Explore the back streets and local culture on a guided interpretive walk through a township. Opt to go sandboarding, skydiving, or quad biking.

Day 34-37 Namib Desert/Fish River Canyon/Gariep River
Explore Sossusvlei Dunes, and opt to climb the spectacular Dune 45. Enjoy sunset at Fish River Canyon. Opt to canoe on the scenic Gariep River.

Day 38-39 Cederbeg/Cape Town
View dramatic Western Cape scenery and camp on a local farm. Explore vibrant Cape Town by night, and enjoy daytime views of Table Mountain.

Day 40 Cape Town
Depart any time.
