Itinerary
Day 1 Nairobi
Arrive at any time.
Day 2-3 Eldoret/Kampala
View varied landscapes from the overland truck and enjoy a first night of camping in Eldoret before crossing the border and continuing onto Uganda's largest city.
Day 4 Kalinzu Forest Reserve/Chimp Tracking
Experience the Ugandan countryside and finish up at a bush camp in western Uganda. Wake up early the next morning for an included chimpanzee tracking excursion and tea plantation visit.
Day 5-7 Gorilla Tracking/Lake Bunyoni
Enjoy a 1-day guided mountain gorilla trek. Option to go canoeing, fishing, hiking or boating.
Day 8 Kampala
Return to the capital after a long drive. Almost to Jinja!
Day 9-10 Jinja
Enjoy this area known for its outdoor and adventure activities. Opt to raft down the White Nile River, mountain bike up and down the hills or volunteer with a local project.
Day 11-13 Eldoret/Nakuru/Lake Naivasha
Cross over into Kenya for a night in Eldoret before continuing onto enjoy a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. While at Lake Naivasha, opt to go on a walking safari, visit Green Crater Lake or view birds and wildlife around the camp.
Day 14-15 Nairobi/Arusha
Return to Kenya's capital for a night before continuing through the lands of the Masai people into Tanzania.
Day 16-17 Serengeti National Park/Ngorongoro Crater
Enjoy game drives in 4x4 safari vehicles in both the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater.
Day 18-19 Marangu/Dar es Salaam
After a morning at the Ngorongoro Crater, continue onto Marangu to overnight at this popular starting point for those wanting to climb Mt Kilimanjaro. The next day's long day of travel finishes in Dar es Salaam on the Indian Ocean.
Days 20-23 Zanzibar
Ferry over to the island of Zanzibar. Embark on a guided tour of a spice plantation. Opt to visit Arab residences, palaces, museums, historic sites, go snorkelling or scuba diving or just relax on the beach. Spend two nights in Stone Town and two nights right on the beach.
Day 24 Zanzibar
Depart at any time.
