Situated in Luang Prabang, volunteer with local women, teaching English and helping to tackle gender inequality.

In Luang Prabang, a UNESCO heritage site, you can volunteer on a women's empowerment programme. Due to gender inequality, based on women's lack of education and employment opportunities, many women are at high risk of exploitation and this is where you can help.

Five days a week, you will work with local women, helping them to improve their English. Throughout your time, you will be team teaching, receive teacher training, mentoring and access to teaching resources. This is a fantastic programme for any body who is looking for teaching experience or for teachers looking to use their skills abroad.

There is plenty to see and do in Luang Prabang - making it one of the most popular tourist destinations in Laos. Use your weekend and evenings to explore the local area. You will be living in a centrally based guesthouse. Sharing with other volunteers, you will get to share stories in the communal areas. Food will be provided by local cooks each day you are on the project.
