These are protected areas teeming with large numbers of mammals including elephants, hippos, rhinos, lions, leopards, chimpanzees, birds, various types of antelope, buffalo and other wildlife.

Uganda is home to large mountainous forests which are a haven for the famed mountain gorillas, chimpanzee and golden monkeys, part of the world's primates and wildlife’s closest species to man.

The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is Uganda’s most famous national park because of Tracking for the resident Mountain Gorillas some of which are habituated. This is the highlight of any trip and seeing the endangered mountain gorillas who live in the dense forests deep in the Ugandan countryside is a really special experience.

There are numerous lakes and rivers and it is now possible to do even white water rafting.

There is no best time to visit Uganda and the country is easily accessible via various international airlines from Europe and via Kenya and there are tour departures all year round. 

The price you pay really depends on the tour, the operator and duration. Please note you will usually need to pay separately the park fees for seeing the mountain gorillas and this fee can be high.
