Eligibility

Every organization is unique and has different requirements. Most positions are option to individuals (adults and students) whilst some accept families and corporate placements.

You will usually need to be aged 16+ unless participating with your family or as part of a structured group e.g. with your school. A lot of general positions do not require any previous experience. All positions are open to United States citizens and some also allow internationals applying from overseas.

Some organisations offer board, meals and a stipend salary if the position requires you to live in the location.

You will find some organizations especially those helping animals might require you to pay a fee to participate - this is like a donation which goes to the charity work.
